Step by Step Guide to Throwing (1996)
I was getting confused by the amount of books claiming to 'teach' people techniques that needed to be experienced and acquired over time, such as throwing clay on the wheel.
I decided to write my own guide and sell it alongside my work at an event. The organisers decided that whilst the books could be sold, I could not sell my T-shirts. They remained on display and we continued to wear them throughout the event. My assistants ensuring that they bacame very visible and spent the rest of the three day event wandering around wearing the guides with their price tags hanging out.
I sold more T-shirts at that event than any of my other work.

I have often been tempted to reprint them and probably will when the time is right.
